We are offering a special workshop this coming August 4th, at the Gencon Indy Convention held in Indianapolis. There we will be hosting a two-hour, in person workshop based on the principles of our Scribe’s Forge Online Writing Seminars.There will be a $10 charge for each attendee at that workshop … and they will also be requested in addition to purchase and complete our courses here online prior to the workshops at the convention. We certainly are excited to welcome these new writers among us here online.

As registration for Gencon Events begins tomorrow (May 1st) we anticipate that some of our workshop courses may be filling up more quickly than usual. If you have been following us here at Scribe’s Forge and have been considering joining one of our workshops, we will do our best to keep you apprised of the availability of our workshops over the next few months as we anticipate them filling up quickly. Any number of writers may join in our seminar courses at any time … but we are strictly limited as to the number of manuscripts we can workshop over a given period.

We are pleased to announce that our Scribe’s Forge Seminars and Workshops first course — Foundations in Speculative Fiction — is now open!

There are two versions of our ‘Foundations’ course. The first is the seminars version where participants have access to the online seminar videos, the workbook materials and the general forums. Seminars may be joined at any time — and you can participate in those right now, beginning whenever it is convenient for you.

Workshops, on the other hand, utilize the same videos, workbook pages and forums as the seminars — but in addition, Workshop participants have their own Workshop forum where their manuscript pages will be discussed privately with other members of their workshop AND they will receive a personal critique and advice on their written pages from Tracy and Laura Hickman at the end of the course. These workshops are only conducted every six weeks. The current workshop will close to additional participants on March 30th. The next Workshop is not scheduled to begin until May 3rd.
